I don’t think it will surprise those who watch football that Patrick Mahomes tops this league list. Even though Patrick Mahomes didn’t win the MVP last year, I still think he’s the best player in the NFL.

In previous years, Patrick Mahomes was also talked about as the best player in the league, but two years back, he finally proved it by leading the Chiefs to the Super Bowl for the second time in his career. Despite the Chiefs losing the Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes is only 26 years old, and the league looks forward to his long-term dominance.

It doesn’t look like the Chiefs will regret giving Mahomes the richest contract in the NFL – a 10-year, $450 million contract – anytime soon. This marks the first time in Kansas City’s stellar career that Mahomes has been officially named the NFL’s MVP. Chiefs fans are probably still cringing at the thought of Mahomes’ last pass of the season, which shattered Kansas City’s hopes of a third consecutive Super Bowl appearance. Mahomes appeared in two Super Bowls in his four years as a starter and never missed an opportunity to win at least an AFC Championship game.

Mahomes wasn’t in contention for the Lombardi Trophy this year, but he’s the best quarterback to compete in the 2022 Pro Bowl. In Week 17 against the Oakland Raiders, he threw an 89-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver DeMarcus Robinson, and Mahomes was the best as he was the second quarterback in NFL history to throw for 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns.

Mahomes finished with 443 yards and was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week. Mahomes threw for 270 yards and had two interceptions in Super Bowl LV against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a 9-31 loss to the Chiefs which was predicted by sports betting tipsters.

In the AFC Championship against the Buffalo Bills, Mahomes threw for 325 yards and three touchdown passes; he led the Chiefs to a 38-24 win and his second straight appearance in the Super Bowl. In the 2019-20 playoffs, Mahomes led the Chiefs to Super Bowl LIV, their first appearance in a Super Bowl in 50 years, where they beat the San Francisco 49ers.

In the past three years, Mahomes’ has been a top-five quarterback and NFL regular-season MVP (2018) and Super Bowl MVP (2019), having an elite PFF rating of over 90.0.

This is not only the NFL’s highest rating surpassing the NFL this season but also the second-best rating the PFF has ever received from a sophomore quarterback, behind only Mahomes in 2018). Thanks to Herbert’s ability to take care of the ball, make quick shots and make accurate preemptive shots, Herbert ranked third in passer rating among sophomore quarterbacks in the 2021 PFF.
